I enjoyed contemplateing Webbers Between the Lines series, especially the third one, trade good For You (I MISS REID!) so I was so excited to study Easy. The excitement I felt was instantly replaced by chagrin though. I expected light, humorous romance, based on the synopsis, nevertheless what I got was A TON of drama. I wouldnt have read it had I known Easy also covers a minacious issue ( blow). Dont deal me wrong. Im not saying novels about rape arent worth my time. Rape IS a weighty issue. Its just that I thought Easy was along the lines of Good For You - the characters had to deal with serious issues too like family problems and wavering faith, but the drama was fit with sweet romance and humor.
The main character, Jacqueline, infuriated me to no end. It blind drunk me how poorly and selfishly she handled the issue with Buck. She decided not to key out Buck because she didnt want to be a social outcast.
SHE DIDNT til now CONSIDER THE FACT THAT SHE HAD TO REPORT BUCK BECAUSE IF SHE DIDNT, THE ASSHOLE big businessman RAPE SOME OTHER POOR GIRL AT ANOTHER PARTY.
I envisioned the campus police arriving at the scene, the partygoers who would drop from the house when the sirens came... It would be my fault if the party became the focus of the police. I would be a pariah.
