Freedom of Religion
A business has a backlog of orders, and to come over its deadlines, management decides to run the firm sevensome days a week, eight hours a day. One of the employees, Marjorie Tollens, refuses to work on Saturday on religious grounds. Her refusal to work means that the firm may non meet its production deadlines, and may therefore suffer a loss of future business. The firm fires Tollens and replaces her with an employee who is willing to work seven days a week. Tollens claims that in terminating her employment, her employer violated her constitutional rightfield to the free exercise of her religion. Do you agree? Why, or why not?
Justify your answer using information from your rendering in Chapter 1.
In your response, be sure to:
1. Discuss the initiation clause.
2. Discuss how employers must reasonably accommodate employees religious rulings.
The authorities Clause prohibits the government from establishing a religion, also from passing laws that come along religion, or shoe favoritism over one cross religion. It does not require separation from church and state however, it requires government to accommodate for those personal beliefs.

With this said I do not feel the comp whatsoever violated Tollens right to freedom of religion. The neer told her not to practice in her religion. They were asking everyone to work a schedule to keep up production at work. I do not get the impression she told them nigh this belief before they started working 7 day a week. roughly of the companies I have worked for have made these accommodations for religious beliefs as long as they are aware of them.
What if, we were talking about half of a production Line? Would this change any ones point of view?
