I am choosing age restrictions on alcohol to military eligibility. This is something that is rigorous to me because of serving almost nine years active duty. I entered the military when I was 19 years old. The fact that I was old enough to go out and be jell in charge of million dollar equipment, take mortal elses life, possibly lose my life, notwithstanding yet told that I could not inebriety bugs me.
How can you be an adult and go serve, but yet you are too young to drink alcohol? This question is the one that will bug majority of America. When you are 18 years old, you have to sign up for discriminating service, which government agency that you can be drafted into the United States Military. If you exit to do so, you can be charge with a crime.
The selective service played a huge role during the Vietnam War. This means that kids or young adults at the age of 18 were drafted and told to go fight a war. Ask a majority of the survivors how they tangle somewhat being able to go to war, but they could not drink alcohol. I would guess they would be upset. Their argument would be how the area could allow you to go die from them, even involuntary, but it is a crime to drink.
Although it is very important to know and examine that about 3,500 deaths of citizens under the age of 21, has alcohol involvement. Out of those 3,500 about 1,400 are a result of drinking and driving. The others deaths are from murders and suicides.
As of August, 2011 there has been 4,683 service men and women that have gave their life for the country in the War on Terrorism. Of those 1,385 were in the age begin of 18-21. If you compare the two, alcohol and fighting a war live about the same.
