The N-Word
For decades the word nigga, has become a part of the American culture. According to the text, it has been delectationd to distinguish black and minority groups, as well as putting it into the music industry (Blaine, 59). In my personal opinion, I consider the N-word to be language of the street. The word itself does have different meaning in numerous contexts. In music and speeches used in the street addresses the N-word as a figurative term for males and sometimes females.
In addition, even with the root Amendment providing us freedom of speech, some folks take the N-word preferably offensive and do not allow it, unless it is their own people. Hence, this ingest us to the question of, is it okay when one race whitethorn use the word while it becomes word of slur for others? Ironically, at once that word who was once consider as derogatory, is now has its own figurative context.
Youth uses it in a counseling to applaud their close friends. For example, Thats my nigga! Overall, although the word itself is date back in American history, whether you are African American, Asian, Caucasian, or Hispanic that word should not be limited to every race, nor used if you find it to be a slur when others use it to address you.
