But he backslides almost immediately (and with the help of strong drink). accordingly he spends several years among heathens (that is, among the Moors as a knuckle down and later among Catholics in Brazil). Again, this is not a big love for him from a religious perspective.

On the desert island is where he begins genuinely to find God. After he begins to work.

And now I began to take for myself to make such necessary things as I prove I most wanted, particularly a chair and a table; for without these I was not able to enjoy the fewer comforts I had in the world; I could not write or eat, or do several things with so much pleasure without a table.
