In todays society many of us are able to say we submit witnessed terrorism pillow slip to face since witnessing the horrific attack on the World pot Centers on September 11th, 2001. However, many questions remain as to what constitutes terrorism. Terrorism is best defined in the U.S. by the Code of federal official Regulations as: ...the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the noncombatant population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of policy-making or social objectives(Terrorism Files). With this taken into consideration I would the resembling to look into a terrorist group that is very prominent today, the ?arakat al-Muq?wamah al-?Isl?miyyah or otherwise known as HAMAS. With this paper I would like to analyze and assess their organization as a whole, airfield of operation, political objectives, activities, operational targets, counter-strategies, as well as where they carrell today as a terrorist threat.
First who is ?arakat al-Muq?wamah al-?Isl?miyyah and what do they do? Hamas was created in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin as an outgrowth of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza.
They use tactic and various elements both violently and politically, including terrorism, to purse the goal of establishing an Moslem Palestinian state in Israel. Hamas is loosely structured as some of their tactics are done in privacy and others are done openly through mosques and social emolument institutions to recruit members, raise money, organize activity, and distribute propaganda. Hamas has been in a violent confrontation since the organization inception against Israeli forces that have resulted in the death of many Palestinians who have unfortunately been caught in the crossfire.
