The Road non Taken Reflection
In the poem, The Road Not Taken, Robert Frost presents the plight of a person facing a fork in the road of conduct, knowing the decision could forever alter the future. No matter how long the individual stares down the two paths, there is nothing to show which direction is more likely to be the successful journey. This paper will address how Frost approaches these life altering choices, and contemplate regrets about the paths not taken.
This analyze takes a reader-response approach to literary criticism. It asks the reader to connect with the literary works with a personal or imaginative link to the poem, story, or play. The Road Not Taken immediately captivated my interest and imagination because of a universal topic; the choices made in life and the resulting paths taken.



I connected with this piece of literature because I recently go about a fork in the road. This poem spoke to me of the wishing to escape my present, dead end, employment situation and the difficulty of that decision. termination back to school at sixty-five was a shake decision for me. Will I be too old to gain employment when I graduate? From the onset of adulthood, piece make decisions about life over and over. The elderly come along back on life and ponder the choices they made: were they the veracious ones? No one ever knows for sure. Two roadstead diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not croak both (Frost, 1920, page 9). Facing the two possible roads makes the reader aware of the ambiguity of making life changing decisions.
